International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day is held every year on March 8th and celebrates women’s achievement and driving gender parity.
PROBLEM TO SOLVE
Initiatives to promote gender parity has come a long way with regards to awareness and behavioral changes, but there is a still a long way to go.
International Women’s Day was established to celebrate the achievements of woman and serve as a call to action to accelerate gender parity. Each year, the Munich Global Shapers host a “ShapeTalk” about the respective International Women’s Day theme. For International Women’s Day 2019, the campaign is #BalanceforBetter and we want to amplify how balancing teams are better for us, celebrate the progress we have made, acknowledge that we have a long way to go and focus on actionable steps we can take.
Our 2019 event will take place on Thursday, March 7th from 18:00-21:00 at our local partner WeWork. We will hear from local leaders about the approaches and techniques they have brought to their respective companies to build and sustain more diverse teams. We are excited to have the following panelists:
- Mali M Baum (Founding Partner & CEO, WLOUNGE)
-Anna Kopp (Head of IT, Microsoft)
- Alex Nusselt (Head of Web Apps & Portals, Siemens)
