Digitalstunde - Coding School

IMPACT

Empowered more than 100 students aged between 8 and 12 with coding skills. The initiative is based on the voluntary work of young professionals to prepare students for the labour market of tomorrow.

PROBLEM TO SOLVE

Digitalisation vastly and rapidly changes society, especially the labour market. And while the Fourth Industrial Revolution is enabling new opportunities, it’s also contributing to a widening inequality gap.

OUR SOLUTION

To close the growing digital divide in Germany, Munich Hub aims to teach middle-school students from weak socioeconomic backgrounds the basics of coding. Our tutors use a hands-on, two-month curriculum to introduce and build coding capabilities and integrate coding frameworks into traditional lesson planning.

WHAT’S NEXT?

Munich Hub is about to launch the project as an independent organization, with the aim of reaching 120 additional students by the end of 2019.
